Why control joint spacing matters
Concrete shrinks as it cures. Control joints create a weakened plane so the slab cracks where you chose instead of across the middle of a finished driveway. Panels that are too large, too long and narrow, or cut too late all lead to random cracking that no amount of finishing hides.
Getting the layout right the first time is cheap. Fixing a cracked slab is not.
